- Sports Massage
JOB TITLE:
Sports Injury Therapist
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Treating Post-Acute muscular injuries using various
massage techniques, either gentle or deep tissue massage
where and when necessary. A beneficial treatment for non
sport related injuries.
EXPERIENCE:
I have been working in various locations since October
2005, treating a variety of injuries, ranging from
ankles, muscular stiffness in legs, back and shoulders
on sportsmen and women of varying levels of fitness to
help them recover from their injuries.
I've also worked with Essex Country Cricket Club to help
a selection of 1st team players recover from muscle
fatigue, suffered during the competitive nature of the
sport.
QUALIFICATIONS:
After 12 months of intensive studying I qualified from
Nature Care College of Complimentary Therapists. Both
diplomas are recognised internationally by the Sports
Massage Association. I also specialise in massage for
pregnant mums.
I.T.E.C. Diploma - Level 3
Anatomy & Physiology
Holistic Massage
I.T.E.C. Diploma - Level 3
Sports Massage
Treatment Aims:
I have enjoyed many years exercising and keeping fit.
Unfortunately I have also spent occasions on a treatment
couch due to injury and therefore know just how
frustrating it is when you are restricted from enjoying
your sporting activities.
Having a full understanding of what it is like to
recover from muscular injuries, I aim to get you “back
on your feet” as soon as possible using Sports Massage
and joint mobility techniques to aid your recovery
process.
Taking into consideration your everyday activities,
including your working routine and social activities
(exercise and hobbies), I will concentrate on your
muscular problems by manipulating the soft tissue areas
using gentle massage techniques and progressing to
deeper tissue massage to encourage blood flow and
in-turn regaining the suppleness and tone back into the
muscle tissue. THE MORE SUPPLE THE MUSCLE - THE MORE
EFFECTIVE YOUR EXERCISE REGIME WILL BE.
WHO IS IT FOR?:
Everyone - you do not have to be an Olympic Athlete to
be treated by me. A lot of people think that a Sports
Massage Therapist is a therapist that treat injuries
only. In fact you can see Sports Massage Therapy as part
of your exercise regime to aid the flexibility and to
enhance your physical performance. People of all ages
can benefit from Sports Massage, not only to treat aches
and pains, but also to relax.
BODY CONTROL PILATES®
I am also a fully qualified Body Control Pilates®
teacher. Teaching small group classes to help improve
core strength and flexibility.
My classes are kept very small, maximum of 10. In
Writtle, Chelmsford, maximum of 6 so that I can keep a
close eye on eveyone attending to make sure you get the
maximum effect from the Pilates exercises.
